Sardis Park
February 17th to 23rd 2010

Sardis Park and a few stops when we are driving always give us something to photograph.

Bush Tits at the park did a quick pit stop in a Cedar tree to find something to eat.

American Coots are fun at any time.

A Greater White-fronted Goose accompanied the Cackling Geese at the pond.

A few Pied-billed Grebes stayed at the other side of the pond fishing.

Mallards are everywhere at Sardis Park.

Common Mergansers floated along quietly.

Lesser Scaups always visit us at the edge of the pond every time we visit.

Northern Shovelers skim the water in a circle of ducks with their heads together while a few others spent time chasing each other around the pond.

A Song Sparrow stopped in the morning sun to check out its surroundings.

American Wigeons paddle, glisten, chatter cheekily and generally attract attention to their way, while their cousin, a hybrid American/Eurasian Wigeon spent most of its time sleeping, only waking when the Cackling Geese made too much noise.

A Red-tailed Hawk stopped on a power line for a moment before flying after some unsuspecting prey in a farm field.

A very nice Bald Eagle posed on the tip of a Douglas Fir tree with the bluest sky for a backdrop.
