Sardis Park
April 15th & 19th 2010
Our two walks at Sardis Park this week came up with a couple of surprises, along with the regular birds at the park.
Bush Tits were sighted in a Cedar Tree near the far end of the pond.
American Coots were busy foraging for food.
A small flock of Cackling Geese were passing through on their way to their nesting grounds.
There are always a lot of Turtles on the logs and along the edges of the pond.
There were not many American Wigeon left; most of them have headed to their nesting grounds.
A domestic Toulouse Goose has been dropped off at the park and was very unhappy about its new home as it has to fend for itself for food.

There were two sets of Canada Geese Goslings; one set of three and one set of five little balls of yellow fluff, following the adults as close as possible. The adult Canada Geese were very vigilant, taking great care of the little goslings.
