Sardis Park
April 8th 2010

Sardis Park was an ideal location to take a short walk even though the weather wasn’t exactly pleasant. When we got there we didn’t have to walk farther than the trees closest to the pond to find more birds in a very small area.

There was a nice Cherry Tree in bloom near the entrance to the park.

There were Northwestern Crows hopping around the grass and perched in the trees.

Several Cackling Geese were on the pond.

A Pied-billed Grebe was huddled up on the pond.

American Wigeon were near the edge of the pond.

Under a small tree, two Pine Siskins blended into the debris from the trees nearby.

While the wind whipped us with sleet and hail, we had a hard time deciding what birds to photograph. Yellow-rumped Warblers bounced around the trees eating insects.

Bush Tits joined them in the same trees.

Nearby a Killdeer called which drew attention to it, but as much as we enjoyed the multitude of birds, we fled to the car after only a few short minutes to go home for a warm coffee.
