Dowitcher
July 11, 2010
We were just starting out on the path to the Salwein Creek Loop when we saw a Dowitcher fly out of some grasses near the edge of the lagoon and land on a log nearby. We watched it for quite awhile while it had a nap before it woke up and started preening. After a big yawn, it flew toward us and landed at the edge of the lagoon again. It was too close for us to get photos with our lenses without us backing away a bit. We took our walk and on our way back past the Dowitcher, we took a few more photos of it before it decided to have another nap so we left it to enjoy a peaceful nap.
