February, 2017

February 16th & 17th 2017

We had two more nice walks at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.

Click below to see some sightings.

Everything is brighter now, the snow has gone and we are looking forward to the Great Blue Herons gathering for nesting.

Black-capped Chickadees were seen as we walked along.

Double-crested Cormorants were seen as usual.

A Brown Creeper was seen marching up a tree trunk.

The resident Bald Eagles were in a good mood with the change in weather.

Golden-crowned Sparrows were seen in Blackberry shrubs.

House Finches were also in the Blackberries.

Steller’s Jays were seen in the Salwein Creek forest.

Dark-eyed Juncos were also seen in the forest.

American Robins are increasing in numbers.

Several Trumpeter Swans flew overhead.

Spotted Towhees were seen along the way.

A Green-winged Teal, American Wigeons and Wood Ducks were seen as well.
