We enjoyed our usual walk at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.

Great Blue Herons were more active at the Heronry today.

American Goldfinch were seen nearby.

A Canada Goose was nesting with several Mallards nearby.

A House Finch brought a bright moment to a dark morning.

Bald Eagles were seen as usual.

Common Mergansers were seen along the way.

Wood Ducks were seen in a few areas.

Tree Swallows were seen in several spots.

A Wilson’s Snipe was seen camouflaged in the dry grass at the edge of the water.

A Song Sparrow was seen on a log near the water.

A Turtle was seen nearby.

American Robins were seen as well.

Rufous Hummingbirds added another bright spot to an otherwise dark morning.

We enjoyed talking to Leona, Casey with Ula, Alyson and Randy with Chesney, Lori riding Deja, Carol and Dennis from Alberta, Penny as well as Ed F. on the trails. We also enjoyed chatting with Jean and Mair in the Rotary Interpretive Centre Gift Shop.
