We always find something to interest us at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, B.C..

Bufflehead Ducks are still visiting but will soon head to their nesting grounds.

Great Blue Herons can be easily found at the moment because it is nesting season.

Common Mergansers were seen on the slough near the Heronry.

Ring-necked Ducks were seen as well.

Red-winged Blackbirds were seem in many areas.

Song Sparrows are singing for mates and to defend their territories.

A large number of Violet-green and Tree Swallows were seen at the far end of the road past the Heronry.

American Wigeon were seen.

A large number of individual Wood Ducks were seen.

The male Common Yellowthroats are busy singing to attract their mates and defending their territories.

We enjoyed seeing Ken and Molson, Brenda and Finnegan, Denise and Summer, Dolly, Rich, Jon, Mary, Yonase, John M. and Rhian on the trails.
