April 3, 2015

Our walks at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack are always pleasant.

Today we found a male Downy Woodpecker near the edge of the trail.

Close by we found a female Hairy Woodpecker.

Canada Geese are getting ready to nest.

Pied-billed Grebes usually nest out of sight in the far marsh, (right side of photo in the distance).

Great Blue Herons are easily found in and near the Heronry.

Ring-necked Ducks were seen.

Male Red-winged Blackbirds were performing for mates.

Song Sparrows were seen in many locations.

We enjoyed chatting with Denise with Summer, Brenda with Finnegan, Elsie with Molson, Susan from Olympia, Janet P. and Ann doing a bird count, Bill and Jenny, Sandra with Izzy, Jon, Yonase and Leona I. on the trails.
